The Residential Broadband initiative centers on increasing the capacity of video, voice and data communications to the PC. With bigger, better and faster connections, consumers eventually will be able to receive compelling broadband digital content from anywhere in the world.
IAL is advocating the development of Residential Broadband infrastructure by investing in various transports, including cable, Digital Subscriber Lines (DSL) and satellite. IAL is also working with industry to define a complete, common architecture to enable broadband applications, such as digital coupons, datacasting, and electronic magazines.
